Celebrating

Cheers! It’s about to be a new year as I’m writing this, and celebrating is what this day is all about. In fact, from Christmas through New Years, it’s a time of celebration and thankfully, my friends and family know that.

  • So, Target (yes, pay slightly more so you don’t have to go to Walmart) has seriously stepped up their game in the home decor department. My wife and I have a bit of a retro / eclectic taste, and Target has jumped into it big time with Project 62. (The cool measuring server from the above IG image is a P62 product). Even their couches and end tables have a mid-century modern flair.
  • Next up in the image above is the clean and simple whiskey glass I got from a good friend. What’s not featured (see it soon on Instagram) is the granite block socket coasters that keep the whole glass cold! Handcrafted by (someone who I will update this post with as soon as I find their card), it’s a brilliant overall design.
  • And last but not least is the 12 year Jim Beam in the slickest “In Good Spirits” bag I’ve ever seen. A big thanks to my Pennsylvania extended family Holly and Joe for the quality beverage.

Enjoy your time together. Whether it’s with friends or family, over drinks or food, and on good days and bad, celebrate what good you do have. Tonight I had a celebratory drink with my boys and my wife, a toast to 2017 and a look forward to 2018. I know what you’re thinking … c’mon now! It was grape juice! But it was sparkling grape juice in a bottle and the boys loved it.

This Christmas was extra special this year as we had a new baby girl enter the world on Christmas Eve! Piper Kaylee is the sweetest little baby, and her brothers and parents adore her. She got to meet her great-grandmother and her new cousin Violet all in the same day this past week. What a joy it is to celebrate new life and all that potential! But on the same day, my grandmother started hospice care, and she’s not doing well. We are so thankful for the photos of our daughters with her, as we celebrate generations and genetics bundled up in a single image.
